On-cycle and off-cycle
Campaign work never really stops. Off-cycle years like 2027 bring governor's races in Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi, the entire Virginia and New Jersey legislatures, and mayor's races in Chicago, Philadelphia, Jacksonville, Nashville and other big cities. On-cycle years like 2028 bring the presidential primaries, 34 U.S. Senate races and all 435 House seats.
