Texas elections in 2027 and 2028

Houston elects its mayor on November 2, 2027, and Dallas, which moved its city elections to November of odd years, also elects its mayor in November 2027. Texas holds its presidential primary on March 7, 2028, Super Tuesday. AdImpact projected about $850 million in Texas political ad spending for the 2026 cycle, among the highest of any state.

What field programs in Texas need to know

Voter registration in Texas runs through volunteer deputy registrars, who must be citizens, Texas residents and at least 18, complete county training and turn applications in within 5 days, according to the Secretary of State. Registering voters without an active appointment is a misdemeanor. Texas has no citizen-initiated statewide ballot measures. Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston are the fourth- and sixth-largest media markets in the country.
