Illinois elections in 2027 and 2028

Chicago's mayoral election is February 23, 2027, with a runoff on April 6, 2027 if no candidate wins a majority. In 2028, Illinois holds its presidential primary on March 21, according to Axios, and Sen. Tammy Duckworth's Class 3 seat is on the November ballot.

What field programs in Illinois need to know

Chicago municipal campaigns run on a short winter calendar, so nominating petitions, field hiring and voter contact all have to be planned in the fall before the election. Chicago is the third-largest media market in the country, which makes targeted field, mail and digital the most efficient way for many campaigns to reach voters.

Our founder was project director for a 2016 coordinated canvass program in Chicago and field director for The Black Institute's 2019 #KeepStarz petition drive in Chicago. Leo Operations has also worked with Marie Franklin's campaign for mayor of East St. Louis.
